Plan An Anniversary or Romantic Date For Under $75

Romantic date nights should be a special time between you and the one(s) you love. However, it can also be pricey and downright ridiculous. Below, we will share some tips to make that special someone feel great without breaking the bank.

Let’s call out the elephant in the room first. Scratch off renting an aquarium for the night and buying Hermès stock. That isn’t happening on this budget.

Our biggest ticket item will be flowers. Of the $75 budget, $40 will be spent on flowers and rose petals. The best place to get cheap flowers in the grocery store or your local flower shop. Roses are generally fairly cheap by the dozen. The flower shop might even have leftover rose petals that you can purchase cheaply. You’ll want to buy as many as you can with the $40 budget. The prices will vary by area, but $40 will get you a decent amount.

Next will be the food and wine. Trader Joe’s remains a favorite for putting together a fancy meal quickly and cheaply. You can get two filets of light and flaky fish for $10-$12. Next, grab a vegetable like broccolini or green beans for $3 and some red potatoes for $2. For dessert, you can get a little carton of shelf-stable heavy cream for $2 and some fruit for $2. You’ll have to whip the cream yourself. Do not be intimidated as this is extremely easy. The last thing you’ll get is a nice bottle of wine for around $7. I usually steer clear of “Two Buck Chuck” (Trader Joe’s value brand) however get what suits your taste buds.

Lastly, go to your local dollar store for bath bombs and candles. They always have great deals on bath products. Most of the items will be close to the back of the store where the body scrubs and lotions are. You can even get a vase for the roses and a bag of those little tea light candles because they float in water. You’ll have $7-$9 left, so go crazy and spend the rest.

As for the ambiance and decorations, I’ll leave that up to you and your favorite search engine. At the end of the day, if you know your partner and make them feel special, it won’t matter what you spend.
